Current fundraising opportunities – GET INVOLVED
HEMS doctor and KPF’s senior advisory board member Major Thomas Konig will be taking part in the Jordan Ultra Marathon on 3 September 2011 which involves running 360 km over 6 days starting in Wadi Rum and covering Jordan’s historic sites and deserts before finishing in the ancient city of Petra. Fundraise in your community
Capture the imagination of your community and get involved in raising funds for KPF:
1. Host a quiz night that will bring together people from your local community colleagues, friends and family. We’re happy to help you compile the questions.
2. Organise a karaoke event. Charge an entry fee, and give small prizes to the best (and worst) singers.
3. Organise a flash mob or speed dating everyone who turns up makes a little donation.
4. Put out an appeal in your local library, community centre or town hall. Let people know about the KPF and the efforts which are being made to tackle knife crime.
Fundraise at work
Make work more exciting and raise money for the KPF at the same time:
1. Get your colleagues fit. Organise a training session with a KPF trainer.
2. Do a sponsored run. (We’re trying to get you away from your desk, ok?)
3. Do a good old fashioned collection.
4. Suggest everyone pays a pound for the day to dress in whatever they like.
Fundraise at school
Get your school involved and support the KPF. You can be as create as possible:
1. Organise a raffle. Write to local businesses to donate a glamourous prize.
2. Organise a competition e.g. a dance off, poetry competition, baking competition.
3. Wear pink for a day. Pink was Kiyan’s favourite colour.
4. Ask your teachers for ideas and check they are ok with your idea before you do it.
Corporate Fundraising
We need the help of financial institutions and professional organisations. The City of London shares borders with some of the communities we are working with. It would be excellent to get your support or sponsorship for some of the programmes we deliver and the future events we would like to hold. So far we have the support of a U.S. law firm in London and a top 10 international bank. We would love the opportunity to come and talk to you about the good work that the KPF is doing. Please contact@kiyan.org.
